Mcf artist Nity Gritz and Managing Director Jay McLeary have been doing a radio show on Sub City Radio, Music Always Comes First. This is based in Glasgow and the boys have been doing it since September. Things have went very well and with many shows under their belts, they are getting better and better. The show runs on a FRIDAY @ 12AM-1AM. We do recommend that you tune in for Fridays @ 11.59pm as sometimes the show starts early.

The music played ranges from Hip Hop, Rnb, Rap, Grime and Indie Music. So the music is very varied. They very often have special guests on the show and this makes great entertainment.

ABOUT RAHZEL -
 
Probably best known in the semi-mainstream world as a member of the Roots, Rahzel is an MC that specializes in the "fifth element" of hip-hop culture -- beatboxing (which comes after graffiti spraying, DJing, MCing, and breakdancing). He actively discourages classification of his sound, attempting to remain on the eclectic edge of the commercial music. According to the artist, his influences include Biz Markie, Doug E Fresh, Buffy of the Fat Boys, Bobby McFerrin, and Al Jarreau. His goal is to gain respect for beatboxing as a true art form on its own merits. Growing up, Rahzel looked up to his cousin Rahim of the Furious Five, and went to Grandmaster Flash's shows regularly. He later became a roadie for the Ultramagnetic MCs. Rahzel has in fact mastered the art of beatboxing, able to recreate full songs, with accompaniment by himself without instrumentation, able to sing a chorus and provide a backing beat simultaneously, able to invoke impressions of singers and rappers on a whim.

His lyrics are not your typical in the box lyrics and this gives all Blasfimas work his own stamp of artistic creativeness. My personal top track from this Ep is Nuthin But You feat Blythe. With our only female artist Blythe still being so young and working hard at her development it is good for her to have a track released with such a respected artist like Blasfima Sinna. The two of them really gelled while doing this track and you will be hearing more from these two in the future. Blasfima Sinna is a hard worker and we are really pleased to have him on hour roster. Watch out for all the projects which he is currently working on at the moment and I hope you enjoy this fantastic release from him. It is truly unique and fresh"

Music Comes First Records are pleased to announce Nity Gritz Debut LP Lovesick through MCF Records.

This album has been a dedicated ongoing project from Nity Gritz and a lot of hardwork and effort has went into it. The LP was handed out @ the gig on Saturday the 1st august @ The Hide,Edinburgh . Over 100 copies went within a 30 minute period.

A massive thank you to highly talented Producer Bill Breaks. He provided all the beats for Lovesick and @ such a young age of 17 the talent which he has really shines throughout this album.
Bill will be working with MCFR in the future so keep an eye out for some exciting releases.

Music Comes First Records are in the process of arranging more gigs at the moment and we would like to announce two gigs in August so far. The first gig being the 1st August @ The Hide in Edinburgh, just off the meadows park. Free Entry. £1.50 Vodka And Dash all night. Live performances from the MCF Family, Madhat,Nity Gritz and Blasfima Sinna. Also exciting Scottish emcees Wardie Burns, Dave Gunn, Catchklick, Loki And legendary Mr Jinx. Come and enjoy the Scottish hip hop scene live. This event is also being professionally filmed by UXXV so you might be lucky to appear in the videos if you attend.

The second gig is in conjunction with Nu Fire - The Hip Hop Special 3. MCF artist Madhat will be performing a live set and will also be joined by Nity Gritz and Blasfima Sinna to perform new MCF track "Fallback". This can be heard on the homepage. This is also a free entry. 3rd August @ Sneaky Petes in Edinburgh. This is situated down the Cowgate area. MCF records would like to thank Ralphie for setting this up.

More gigs to follow including an exciting link up with a Glasgow based record label where one gig will be done in Edinburgh and another in Glasgow. Also a new venue has been secured for Music Comes First Records live gigs in Edinburgh.

Music Comes First put on another show @ The Hide last night in Edinburgh and with a banging sound system in place and a great line up it was a great night. This truly was a gig that had everyone buzzing. As you will have seen there is a lot of talent in Scotland and Music Comes First are dedicated to getting artist's music played to a wider audience. That is what all our nights are about. We thank all the people who turned up and showed their support for the music scene.
The pictures will be up in the gallery within the next 7 days so keep an eye out.

Also the DVD from the last gig is on track and is in the final editing stages so they videos will be uploaded soon as well. You will also be able to request a copy of the DVD if you want a hardcopy.

Music Comes First Records recently held their first live gig at The Hide in Edinburgh. With performances from some of the top artist's from Edinburgh And Glasgow and Ireland it was a fantastic night.

The venue was packed from wall to wall at times and the crowd really were enjoying the acts on stage. With hardwork going in from DJ Sonny after a few technical sound difficulties we would like to give Sonny a big big thank you.

The owner of The Hide has asked for another gig to take place and this is something that is being worked on at the moment. M.C.F Records would like to thank all the performers and Dj's for all their hardwork and great energy that made the gig buzz with excitement.

Also thanks for the large amount of people that turned up to the gig which at one point had us reaching capacity which is exactly what we wanted to achieve.

For the next gig we would advise to be there early as this time it did fill rather quick and the last thing we want is to have to turn people away.

We can reveal that the next gig will yet again be a FREE entry night. So what else are you going to do on a saturday night?. Come see some talented artists free of charge and then follow us for the after party.

Dates will be confirmed at a later date but will be in June. Keep an eye out on the website.

Music Comes First were delighted to be involved with Oxfam's music festival Oxjam. Emcee Madhat performed a live 20 minute set. Along side him was Mr Jinx and Holmes performing a captivating live showcase.

Madhat performed a selective tracklist of his own tracks and was hyped by Mr Jinx who got the crowd going wild. It was a great night all round and we would like to thank the Oxjam organisers for all their hard work.

Oxjam is Oxfam's music festival with a difference. Each year hundreds of music-lovers get involved, all across the UK, to raise money for Oxfam by holding their own music events. This year Oxjam kicked off in October and carried on till April 2009. This was the grand finale titled HIP HOPE brought to you in collaboration between The Scottish Hip Hop community, Moving in Circles and Oxjam.

HIP HOPE saw the cream of Scottish talent and club-nights pull together at The GRV on Thursday 30 April 09, all in the name of charity. Overseeing the proceedings was MC Profisee. The event also featured live performances from the following Full Line-Up:

Music Comes First Records are proud to announce that we have signed Edinburgh's Emcee Madhat.
He has been signed to the label for a two album deal. Madhat is currently working on his first album which should be out mid summer. With a well respected producer secured to produce the full album everyone at MCFR are very excited about the release. This will be Madhat's second solo album. The first being released through Powercut Productions and is still available on sale now.

We are very proud to announce we are currently in advanced talks with an established Producer. Originally from Edinburgh and now based in London the talented Producer has worked with the likes of N Dubz Skinnyman,Sway,Wretch 32,Ghetto and Pyrelli. The talks are ongoing and things are certainly going well. Watch this space to find out who the producer is and will be working on Madhat's second solo album.
